Brand Design news from Bluegreen Design

Me & my benefits. Wates approached us to help create an umbrella branding and communication package to lead and introduce an internal communications campaign.

The brief showed that it was important that the solution placed the employees at the heart of the campaign, and that the company's core values of integrity, intelligence, performance, teamwork, and respect for people & communities were communicated. Our solution is built around the concept of the Wates values being woven into the core DNA of the company and all of its employees.

The company strapline... 'Above all, it's about people' also needed to be conveyed. Our approach incorporates a dynamic solution utilising a series of dynamic DNA strands across the whole campaign. The project is currently ongoing, with brochures and posters, and an online portal.

Into a new direction. With campuses covering Bedford, Biggleswade, and Kempston, Bedford College is one of the region's largest providers of further and higher education.
Bluegreen has recently produced the College's part-time course guide for the 2013 academic year, which covers hundreds of courses in over 30 subject areas, many offered at flexible times to cater for everyone. It is the first printed item to carry the new Bedford College branding created by Bluegreen, which can be viewed here.
Part-time study at Bedford College really can help you to ‘Take life or work in a new direction.’
Our ongoing work also includes other branding, advertising, exhibitions and website design. For more information on Bedford College and their range of courses visit www.bedford.ac.uk.

A double rebranding.  Following the acquisition of Shuttleworth College we have re-branded both Bedford College and Shuttleworth College.
Our brief was to rationalise the branding for both Colleges in a way that meant there was a synergy between the two campuses, but at the same time was flexible enough to acknowledge the different locations and activities of both. Both brandings are currently being implemented, and the first printed item carrying the new logo has just been designed and produced by us.
Our ongoing work also includes other branding projects, prospectus design, advertising, exhibitions and website design. We have worked with the Sales & Marketing Director since 2000, and over the years have built up an excellent working relationship and real understanding of the aspirations of this outstanding college.

Marketing and educational material for 'essentials'

The Essentials for Badminton. Being Badminton England's retained design and branding agency, we have already created a multitude of design and marketing solutions.

Our latest brief was to create the marketing and educational material for 'essentials' which is a sub brand of the 'No Strings' Badminton initiative, aimed at people with no previous experience of playing the game. The target audience is mainly female, and the programme plays a key part in helping to increase participation, one of Badminton England's key performance indicators.

The main resource is a coaching manual supplied to the course leaders, and is supplied in a branded pvc wallet containing a whole package of 'essentials' branded support material.

You can see some other examples of our work for Badminton England here.

For more information about 'essentials', 'No Strings' and any other information about the sport please visit www.badmintonengland.co.uk http://www.bluegreendesign.co.uk/about-us/news/essentials/

Taking Care of property. It was clear from the initial brand research results that we carried out on behalf of the client that the branding needed to be addressed, and so our rebranding programme commenced a few years ago.

Working with a shortened, more direct brand name - 'Trinity', and a timely move to larger offices for the client, our work involved a complete rebranding exercise. The presentation and branding of the business has been transformed in a radical manner.

Our work has included designing all stationery, brochures, leaflets, folders, email signatures, digital materials and the group website, which we have just redeveloped for the second time since its launch. www.trinityestates.com.

You can see more examples of our work for this client in our case studies. http://www.bluegreendesign.co.uk/about-us/news/trinity_web/

Spring into Action! Connells asked us to help them to communicate to their customers their '6 week Spring Challenge' campaign.

The brief showed that it was important that the advertising campaign was flexible enough to work over a 6 week period.

By combining simple, strong headlines and a light-hearted illustrative style which utilises a single Spring-themed line drawing throughout, the ads are clear and each one communicates an important message in a relaxed manner.

We have also created a set of lettings leaflets, and we are currently working on an ipad presention app for the surveyors to use when talking to customers.

They have a very natural ability to create a great rapport with clients, whether SME's or large corporation and Tony is one of life's genuine guys (although he probably won't thank me for saying it!)” Gary Villiers - Communications Director Weatherbys. http://www.bluegreendesign.co.uk/our-work/market-sectors/industrial/

Rebranding Design Bedfordshire

Shining a Spotlight. Rebranding a highly succesful and technical business brings its own specific requirements. Following the rebranding exercise for the company, we were tasked with creating a suite of marketing materials for specific company products. 'Spotlight' is a powerful cross-platform software solution designed to track all change events in real-time within your IT environment. Having now completed the rebranding exercise, we have also created stationery, leaflets, exhibition graphics and stands for events in Barcelona, along with ongoing publicity materials and a new website where training modules and products can be purchased. The company is based in the UK and have just opened offices in the US, and have an enviable client list including many blue-chip customers and many household names. http://www.bluegreendesign.co.uk/about-us/news/blackchair/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

Bluegreen Design are now a recommended agency, which means that we have been independently verified and approved by R.A.R., (Recommended Agency Register) to reduce the risk and resource involved in sourcing and selecting the right marketing suppliers. http://www.bluegreendesign.co.uk/

Engineering the Future. As part of our ongoing relationship with The Rolton Group we were asked to redesign their website.
The old site was virtually invisible to search engines, and almost impossible to update by the client. The new optimised site is fully content managed and contains a comprehensive source of information about the company, including their industry-leading experts and examples of their comprehensive proven track record. The home page displays 3 videos that give an unexpected taste of what the company offers, and are well worth a look. The new website can be visited at www.rolton.com With links to their own blog, and now having the ability to add their own news and other updates on the website, the company is embracing the importance and interactivity of social media as a marketing aid. http://www.bluegreendesign.co.uk/about-us/news/rolton

Circuit Training. Being Badminton England's retained design and branding agency, we have already created branding for the national badminton competition series including Senior, Masters and Junior circuits. In addition, we have just completed the branding for the new Para-Badminton circuit, and are working on associated marketing and publicity material for the events. The 2012/13 circuits are open to all players, regardless of standard, provided they are fully affiliated, active members of Badminton England. All of the Senior circuit tournaments qualify for the appropriate grade English National Ranking points. The higher the standard of circuit tournament, the higher the ranking points and prize money awarded. The Masters circuits get under way in early October 2012, and run through to early May 2013. There are also Junior circuit tournaments for U19, U17, U15, U13 and U11 age groups. http://www.bluegreendesign.co.uk/about-us/news/becircuit/

Inspiring Change. We were asked to create a new brand positioning for Lanz Executive Coaching, which has included designing a new website for the company. Located in Bedford, but working with blue-chip national and international clients, Kate has built up an enviable reputation for inspiring change management within her clients' organisations.
The new simple and strong brand suite reflects Kate's personality and approach to her coaching, which is based around inspiring change and making a big impact within a short timeframe. Our advice has helped create the appropriate positioning for the business and, at the same time, creates the correct perception for Kate's added value approach. http://www.bluegreendesign.co.uk/about-us/news/lanz-web/

Web designers Bluegreen Design

“I have worked with many design agencies over the years but none have ever come close to the outstanding account management service at Bluegreen Design. Nothing is too much trouble (even if that means working all night to get something to print on time) and they always deliver to time and budget... with no hidden extras. In my experience you get what you pay for with agencies, and whilst Bluegreen might not be the cheapest around, if you want an agency that will provide a faultless service and work with you to really understand what you are trying to achieve, they definitely fit the bill.” Sarah Baxter - Sales & Marketing Director. Bedford College. http://www.bluegreendesign.co.uk/our-work/market-sectors/services/

“Tony and Bluegreen are an outstandingly creative team and we have been delighted to recommend them to a number of our own large clients. Their added-value and after sales service has meant that those clients have told us they have been glad to engage with them. Tony's team is large enough to support the biggest and most demanding projects, but still will take the time to care for smaller clients with less impressive budgets.” Jacquie Manners – Director -Manners PR.

“The team at Bluegreen have been a fantastic in helping to develop what I believe to be a truly powerful brand with the MK Dons Sport and EducationTrust (SET) including our very own www.mkdonsset.com website. They have delivered outstanding quality and great value in line with our needs not only on our own projects with the brand they created but with projects where we are in partnership and requires a whole new look and feel. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for graphic design and web services in Milton Keynes, or beyond!” Matt Cove - Communications Director - MK Dons SET.

“I have been using Tony and Bluegreen for design services for more than 15 years across three different organisations and have always found them to provide exceptional and professional service. “Both Tony and all at Bluegreen Design are reliable, creative and take into account all the design brief and requirements from the customers point of view. Excellent to work with.”
Alastair Wathey - Marketing Manager – Compass. http://www.bluegreendesign.co.uk/our-work/market-sectors/property/

“I have worked with Bluegreen Design on a wide range of projects from the rebranding of a local events venue through to the production of business brochures. Tony’s team always meet the brief and produce high-quality work to stipulated deadlines. I look forward to working with them again in future and would recommend them to anyone looking for a Bedford based design agency.” Philippa Rego Debort - PRD Marketing. http://www.bluegreendesign.co.uk/our-work/market-sectors/retail/

“We first worked with Bluegreen when putting together a membership scheme at England Hockey. They provided the full concept for the artwork for the scheme and we continued to use their services to refresh the design each year. Their creative ideas extended beyond graphics, providing us with tips in communicating and promoting the scheme as well. They bring a fresh, personable and innovative approach to the design table and I would happily work with them again.” Christina Jensen - Membership Services Manager - England Hockey. http://www.bluegreendesign.co.uk/our-work/market-sectors/sports/

Beware of benefit cuts! BPHA approached us to help communicate to their customers how the introduction of the Government's new benefit cuts would affect them and their families.

The brief showed that it was important that the complex, and potentially confusing messages be conveyed in a manner that would encourage action from customers, but at the same time not frighten them. Our approach was to talk a simple, straightforward language that communicates the fact that BPHA are able to help customers work through the imminent changes in a confident and helpful manner.

At the same time, we needed to convey visually that taking no action at all could result in unnecessary stress and concern. A difficult balance, but one that we've managed to achieve.

The project is currently ongoing, and utilises our skills within branding, digital, print and signage requirements.

When tasked with creating an advertising campaign on behalf of the BBC World Service, to be delivered across large poster sites in multiple cities across Africa, we combined very simple messages with bold and bright graphics to create a series of arresting posters. http://www.bluegreendesign.co.uk/portfolio/services/advertising/

A song and dance of a launch!… As part an ongoing rebranding project to improve its presentation methods we were approached by Stella Mann College of Performing Arts to redesign the college website. The new website has just been launched, and has a robust open source content management system at its heart. This makes it very easy for the client to update and insert new information including text and images as well as news items and diary updates in real-time. You can view the new site herewww.stellamanncollege.co.uk. Incorporating an unusual navigation system, the site is the reference point for all things connected to the college. You can also view the new branding and prospectus at www.bluegreendesign.co.uk/about/news/stella-mann Performing? Then let's talk.

Bluegreen Design Bedford

The Sixth Dimension, Bluegreen’s new project for the new sixth from college in Bedford. The Bedford Sixth Form is a new College located in Bedford town centre and is a place of learning dedicated to sixth form choices, providing A-Level, BTEC and GCSE study to full-time students. The Bedford Sixth Form, which will run under the auspices of Bedford College, will open in September 2012 as the only specialist sixth form in the town. Our role was to advise on how the new venture should be branded and positioned. Combing modern and progressive educational aspirations within a very traditional landmark building meant that the branding project would be challenging.

As part of the ongoing project we worked with the
in-house digital team to create the new website, which can be viewed at www.bedfordsixthform.ac.uk.

The new logo and branding is based upon the golden ratio which is found in nature, architecture and mathematics. As part of the project we have worked on a wide variety of marketing requirements including a 28 page prospectus which can be downloaded here. You can see another example of a similar educational project created on behalf of Bedford College, for The Bedford Free School here. http://www.bluegreendesign.co.uk/about/news/bedfordsixth-web

The Power of the Brand. Creating a new brand, or a re-branding is one of the biggest challenges your business can face. By carrying out a brand audit and confidential research on your behalf, we will be able to establish the existing goodwill, positioning and perception attached to your existing identity.
We have proven experience in company, brand, and product naming exercises, and have the knowledge and understanding to implement the results of our initial research programme. Once we've established where we need to get to, we can get you there more directly, cost-effectively and on-time too. Branding? Then let's talk… http://www.bluegreendesign.co.uk/portfolio/services/identity/

Technical and Industrial. We do big and small convincingly. Whether you business is freight trains, printing machines or microchips, you still have big messages that you want to communicate. With experience across a wide range of industries we understand that the only constant in business is change, and so you'll be wanting to keep ahead of your competitors. So whether you are looking for an international exhibition stand to be designed and manufactured, or a dynamic website to sell your widgets, or even an online training portal, we can help. Growing? Then let's talk… http://www.bluegreendesign.co.uk/portfolio/market-sectors/industrial/

Good luck Team GB!…As part of Badminton England's preparation for the London 2012 Olympic games we were asked to consider how the organisation's communications running up to the event could be branded in an effective manner. The aim of the 'Olympification' project is to help keep Badminton at the forefront of the Olympic sporting agenda, as well as encouraging participation of the sport before, during and acting as a legacy device after the event.

We were tasked with creating a 'Good Luck' message wall at the National Badminton Centre in MK based around the Olympic Team GB campaign theme of 'Our Greatest Team'. The 5m x 4m feature
wall graphic features images of the selected badminton Olympians and allows supporters and sponsors to add a personalised message for each of the athletes. When applied to the wall, the three different shuttlecock stickers in red, white and blue combine together to create the union flag in the background of the graphic.

Our work on this campaign is ongoing and includes printed materials,
advertising, digital and online solutions. You can view stage one of the project here. Good luck to Team GB from all of us at Bluegreen!

If you'd like to get involved, or would like more information please visit the
